Jolyon Gray has worked in instrument repair and restoration for over 30 years. He trained as a forth generation Piano Tuner & Technician with his father John Gray and worked for over a decade as an instrument repairer at Grays Music, along with his family in the long standing music store in Singleton NSW Australia.
Jolyon retrained and worked as a secondary school teacher specialising in fine carpentry teaching Industrial Technology: Timber & Furniture for the last twenty years and has now returned to his musical roots, where he continues to make, repair and restore fretted instruments on a regular basis.

1930's Kalamazoo KG-21This depression era archtop from the Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, arrived in a sorry state: The solid back was in three pieces while the soundboard splits had been partially "repaired" over a decade earlier. All traditional methods were used in this restoration and the results were stunning.

1960's Hofner SenatorGerman made Hofner guitars were Europe's answer to the hard to find American made instruments throughout the 1950's and 60's. A questionable repair needed rectifying but after neck removal, reset, full overhaul and service, this stunning blonde Senator was back in top form and gracing the stage as it did 50yrs earlier.
